The Best of Vermont Summer Festival

I created this as a sub-domain of the Okemo Valley Chamber of Commerce website for an event that was held last year. It will be used again this year, but not all of the pages are live yet - just those needed to signup vendors and sponsors. The other pages will become live once I receive the updated information for them. I also created all the website graphics and the print materials to promote this event - large format banners, posters, program, tickets and social media images.

YMCA Banners
I have worked with the YMCA for many years, and at the end of 2018 they handed me the largest project yet. Part of the project included these sponsor banners to be attached to the lamp posts in their parking lot. I created 35 banners. Here are six of them - word art for the backs with sponsor name and photo for the fronts.

Southwood Realty apartment complex maps
This has been an ongoing project. I was selected to draw these maps to mirror the first proof I provided. I have drawn 62 maps so far using Illustrator and laying them out in InDesign to add the legend. The only sources I used as a guide was Google Maps, Mapquest, and one time I was given a photo of a drawing of the complex and had to determine the birds-eye view from it.

2019 Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce Guidebook

I was honored to be chosen to design the annual guidebook for my local Chamber of Commerce. Of course I used threaded text and master pages, but I learned a new trick with adding anchors to link ads to their listings in the book and also the index.

Animal Medical Hospital Pocket Folder with Cascading Inserts
Another challenging project! They didn’t like my initial design, saying it was too sterile. So I added the background pattern and pet photos to make it more fun and inviting. I made sure the pattern on the inserts lined up precisely with each other when stacked and were the same size as the pattern used on the folder.

Simon Pearce B&W Illustrator Drawings
It is not an easy task to define an object with just 2 colors - basically negative and positive space. Simon Pearce needed images of their products to use on labels to make items easier to locate and pull for distribution. The photographs they had were beautiful, but did not translate well when printed at such a small size. Here are some of the 130 drawings I created for them.

Peter Patter Tale - Illustrated Children’s Book
The Peter Patter Book is an out-of-print and in-the-public-domain children’s book that was published in 1918. My grandmother used to read it to my father. I have always enjoyed the rhymes and thought it would be fun to re-illustrate some of them. So when my work load is low, I work on this. Shown are several 2-page spreads using the text from the original introductory poem. Most of the illustrations are done in Illustrator and brought into an InDesign layout.

Heetland Orthodontics Animation

For this animation, I was handed an Illustrator file and asked to animate it. So I separated the elements into separate Illustrator layers, created the necessary elements (bicycling legs, bird wings flapping, etc.) and imported into Flash (now known as Animate). I was told it was to used as part of a television commercial.
