About the Designer
Elizabeth McNally was born in upstate New York and later moved with her family to northern Minnesota, where she spent several formative years on a 200‑acre farm. The experience instilled in her a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a natural problem‑solving mindset—qualities that would later shape her approach to design. After relocating to a nearby resort town, she became active in a variety of school activities, including the yearbook staff, where her interest in visual communication first took root.
She went on to earn her B.A. in Graphic Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, graduating Cum Laude. Her studies emphasized photography, publication layout, advertising techniques, and technical illustration. She received first place for her black‑and‑white photography portfolio, a recognition that affirmed her eye for composition and detail.
Her professional career began at J.L. Printing in Loveland, Colorado. Starting as a Production Assistant, she soon transitioned into production roles such as process camera operation, film stripping, platemaking, and typesetting before ultimately moving into graphic design. This hands‑on progression through the full print production workflow gave her a deep technical foundation. As a result, she approaches design with a clear understanding of how creative decisions translate into production realities, allowing her to anticipate challenges and deliver work that is both visually compelling and technically sound.
Design, for her, is a strategic and creative puzzle. She begins each project by identifying the core objective—whether it involves driving engagement, clarifying complex information, or strengthening a brand’s presence. She uses hierarchy, typography, imagery, and layout to guide the viewer’s eye and communicate with clarity and impact. She is equally comfortable designing marketing collateral, newsletters, and long‑form publications, each requiring its own balance of structure, usability, and visual appeal.
She is proficient in a wide range of computer programs, including Word and Excel, and is known for her strong organizational skills. As a freelancer, she values accuracy, efficiency, and meticulous record‑keeping. She views every project as an opportunity to solve problems creatively and collaboratively, and she welcomes constructive feedback as part of the design process.
Outside of her professional work, she maintains an active lifestyle through swimming, skiing, biking, and mindful nutrition.
This overview reflects her background, design philosophy, and the depth of experience she brings to every project.
About Dreamtree Graphics
Dreamtree Graphics was founded after more than fifteen years of full‑time experience in the graphic design and print production industry. Today, the studio continues to partner closely with ImageMark—her former full‑time employer—allowing her to support long‑standing clients while expanding her freelance practice.
Before launching Dreamtree Graphics, Elizabeth served for several years as the sole Graphic Designer at ImageMark. In this role, she managed a demanding blend of creative and technical responsibilities, including design, film imaging, and maintenance of the film processor. Her days required careful prioritization: ensuring film was imaged promptly to keep presses running, turning around quick‑proof corrections, and dedicating focused time to larger projects such as newsletters, brochures, and multi‑page publications.
Her workflow spanned multiple systems—two PCs and two Macs—each with a dedicated purpose. She navigated the transition from Mac OS 9 to OS X, troubleshooting challenges such as font conflicts, color‑separation issues, and text reflow. New projects were built on the newer system, while legacy files were maintained and gradually updated as needed. This hands‑on experience across platforms and production stages gave her a deep understanding of how design decisions translate into print‑ready results.
ImageMark Business Services, originally founded in 1924 as Brumley Printing, has grown into a multi‑million‑dollar operation offering state‑of‑the‑art digital and conventional printing, large‑format capabilities, variable data services, bindery, and mailing solutions. Their partnership with Kodak to establish a Digital Demo Center reflects their commitment to innovation—an environment that shaped her own standards for quality and efficiency.

Liz McNally carries forward that same commitment. With a strong foundation in both design and production, she approaches every project with precision, creativity, and a clear understanding of how to bring ideas to life—beautifully and reliably.
